Jacaranda High School, Mulapo Campus

Jacaranda High School, Mulapo Campus is a school in Francistown, Botswana's second-largest city, in the north-east of the country. Its name identifies it as the Mulapo campus of a school called Jacaranda High School. Botswana's school system runs in three stages. Primary education lasts from Standard 1 to Standard 7 and ends with the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). Junior secondary runs from Form 1 to Form 3 and ends with the Junior Certificate Examination (JCE), and senior secondary continues through Forms 4 and 5 to the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE). All three examinations are set by the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC). Francistown lies about 400 kilometres north-east of Gaborone and roughly 90 kilometres from the Zimbabwe border, near the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers. It was founded in 1897 near the Monarch mine and named after Daniel Francis, an English prospector. The town grew out of the Tati goldfields, where gold found along the Tati River in 1867 set off southern Africa's first gold rush. Francistown was granted city status in 1997, and the 2022 census counted about 103,000 residents.
