Fourie Butchery is a butcher's shop in Nata, a village in the Central District of Botswana. Nata stands on the Nata River, which carries its rainy-season flow into the Makgadikgadi Pans, among the largest salt flats in the world. The village is a crossroads for the roads to Maun and Kasane, about 200 km from Francistown, and provides services to travellers on those routes. It had 7,713 residents at the 2022 census, up from 6,714 in 2011. Sua Pan, the eastern of the Makgadikgadi pans, fills during the summer rains and holds water brought down the Nata River until April or May. The community-initiated Nata Bird Sanctuary lies in the north-east of the pan. Cattle farming has long been central to rural life in Botswana, and beef remains one of the country's main agricultural exports. The shop's range, prices and payment methods have not been published online.
