Edgars Airport Junction

Edgars Airport Junction is a branch of the Edgars fashion and beauty chain in Airport Junction Shopping Centre, Gaborone, Botswana, where it occupies Shop 20. The centre stands at the corner of the A1 highway and Airport Road. Edgars was founded on 6 September 1929 by the brothers Morris and Eli Ross, whose first store opened on Joubert Street in Johannesburg; the name was inspired by the London department store Swan and Edgar. In the 1950s and 1960s it widened its range from women's fashion to men's and children's clothing, footwear, fabrics and jewellery. In July 2020 the Durban-based group Retailability acquired 130 of Edgars' 194 stores, and the brand now trades as a mass-market fashion and beauty retailer.
