The requirements listed are the original document, a copy of it, an Omang (or a passport for non-citizens) and two witnesses. The same service is also offered by the Botswana Police Service, magistrates and Civil and National Registration offices. - Solemnisation of marriage: civil marriages are solemnised by the District Commissioner in accordance with the law. The solemnisation forms are completed 21 days before the marriage, the couple must present themselves in person both at registration and at the ceremony, and each party needs a witness over the age of 21 and a certified copy of a valid Omang.
