Caltex Marang Petrol Filling Station

Caltex Marang Petrol Filling Station is a fuel station at 21699 Marang Road in Francistown, Botswana, trading under the Caltex brand. In Botswana and South Africa the Caltex brand is operated by Astron Energy, which is majority-owned by Glencore and has run the brand under a licence agreement with Chevron since 2018. In September 2022 Astron Energy unveiled a new forecourt design and began gradually rebranding Caltex sites in both countries under its own name, and in July 2025 it opened its 500th rebranded station. By 2025 its network ran to more than 850 service stations across the two countries, so sites in it may trade under either the Caltex or the Astron Energy name. Francistown is Botswana's second-largest city, with 103,417 inhabitants at the 2022 census. It lies at the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers, about 400 km north-north-east of Gaborone and 90 km from the border with Zimbabwe, and grew out of the Tati gold rush that followed the discovery of gold on the Tati River in 1867. The city was founded in 1897 and named after the English prospector Daniel Francis. The station has not published its opening hours or the services on its forecourt online, so it is worth phoning ahead before relying on it for a late-night fill.
