Botoka Hardware Moshupa

Botoka Hardware Moshupa is a hardware store in Moshupa, in Botswana's Southern District, and one of the branches of Botoka Hardware, a Botswana hardware retailer. A Botswana Press Agency (BOPA) report published by the government's Daily News in May 2020 names Moshupa among the Botoka Hardware branches that joined the company's Tsabong operation in donating food to Kgalagadi District Council during that year's movement restrictions. The other branches it names are Shakawe, Gumare, Ghanzi, Modipane, Lobatse, Good Hope and Kumakwane. The donation was shared among fifty residents of Kgalagadi South, and the report refers to the company as the Botoka Hardware Group of Companies. Moshupa is a village in the Southern District, with 20,016 residents at the 2011 census. It is home to the Bakgatla-ba-ga-Mmanaana, a group also found in Thamaga, who migrated from the Transvaal in the eighteenth century. The village is known for its large rock outcrops and balanced boulders, which local belief holds will fall as an omen when a chief dies. Botoka Hardware has not published a website, stock list or trading hours for the Moshupa branch, so phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
