Boipelego Community Junior Secondary School

Boipelego Community Junior Secondary School is a government community junior secondary school (CJSS) in Serowe, in the Central District of Botswana. The Government of Botswana's list of government junior secondary schools gives it as Boipelego CJSS, Private Bag 19, Serowe, in the Central region, with a telephone and a fax number on the Serowe exchange. The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) includes it in its list of Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) centres as centre 46, Boipelego Community Junior Secondary School, P/Bag 19, Serowe. The government list names several other community junior secondary schools in Serowe, among them Bakwena Kgari, Mannathoko, Metsimasweu, Ranokanyane and Semane. Junior secondary education in Botswana runs from Form 1 to Form 3. It follows seven years of primary school, Standard 1 to Standard 7, which end with the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), and it ends with the JCE. Pupils who continue go on to a senior secondary school and the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE). The BEC sets all three examinations. Serowe is one of the largest villages in Botswana and the traditional capital of the Bangwato. Khama III moved his capital there in 1902, and the village is the birthplace of Sir Seretse Khama, Botswana's first president. It is also home to the Khama III Memorial Museum, and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary lies to the north.
