Old Khaki Galo Centre

Old Khaki Galo Centre is a clothing store trading under the Old Khaki name at Shop 49, Galo Mall, on St Patrick Street in Francistown, Botswana. Old Khaki is a private-label clothing brand of Cape Union Mart, the South African retailer founded in Cape Town in 1933 by Philip Krawitz. Cape Union Mart launched Old Khaki in 1999 as its second in-house brand, after the outdoor range K-Way, introduced in 1981, and added the women's clothing label poetry in 2006. The group opened its first stores outside South Africa, in Botswana and Namibia, in 2002. Galo Mall houses other chain outlets as well; Nando's own store page, for example, places its Francistown Galo restaurant at Shop 46 in the same mall on St Patrick Street. Francistown is Botswana's second-largest city, with 103,417 people at the 2022 census. It lies about 400 km north-north-east of Gaborone, at the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers, and was founded in 1897 as a settlement near the Monarch mine, taking its name from Daniel Francis, an English prospector. A railway line links it with Harare in Zimbabwe to the north and with Gaborone and Lobatse to the south.
