Extension 3 Palapye Clinic

Extension 3 Palapye Clinic is a health clinic in Palapye, in Botswana's Central District. In the public health system, Botswana's Ministry of Health describes clinics as the level of care within reach of communities, offering mainly primary health care and outpatient services, including general consultations and the treatment of injuries and minor illnesses, with serious cases referred to hospitals. The ministry states that its clinics generally open on weekdays from 7.30am to 4.30pm, with a nurse on call after hours, at weekends and on public holidays, and that some clinics operate around the clock. Palapye lies on the A1 highway and the national railway, about halfway between Gaborone (240 km) and Francistown (170 km), and had 52,398 residents at the 2022 census. It is the site of Morupule Colliery, which supplies the Morupule power station, and of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST). Old Palapye, or Phalatswe, was the capital of the Bamangwato under Khama III from 1889 to 1902. The modern town is divided into numbered extensions, of which Extension 3 is one.
