African Odyssey is a tour operator in Kasane, the administrative centre of the Chobe District in the far north-east of Botswana. Kasane lies on the south bank of the Chobe River at the north-eastern boundary of Chobe National Park and serves as the park's northern entrance. Chobe was declared a game reserve in 1960 and became Botswana's first national park in 1968. It covers about 11,700 square kilometres and holds one of the largest elephant populations known, estimated at around 50,000; the riverfront floodplains draw large breeding herds to water in the dry season, from May to October. The town sits in the area where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe almost meet. Victoria Falls is about 70 kilometres away by road through the Zimbabwean border, and a tarred highway links Kasane south to Francistown and Gaborone. Kasane Airport serves the town, which had 9,244 residents at the 2011 census. African Odyssey has not published a website, the activities it runs or its prices, so phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
