JF Electrical — Palapye

JF Electrical is an electrical supply store in Palapye, a town in Botswana's Central District. The shop trades from premises at the plus code F444+G29, Palapye. Palapye lies on the A1 highway roughly halfway between Francistown and Gaborone, about 170 km from Francistown and 240 km from Gaborone. Its population was 52,398 at the 2022 census, up from 37,256 in 2011. The town is home to the Morupule colliery and power stations, Botswana's principal domestic source of electricity, and to the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), whose campus on a 2,500-hectare site in the Tswapong Hills was completed in 2012. The town's name comes from Phalatswe, "the place for impalas". Old Palapye, several kilometres from the present centre, was the capital of the Bamangwato under Khama III from 1889 to 1902, and the ruins of its church, built in 1892, still stand.
